Expert Witness & Independent Investigations
Independent investigations and expert witness services
When an athlete is seriously injured or dies, institutions and their counsel need an independent, expert account of what happened and what must change.
Services
Two ways Walters Inc. serves institutions and counsel
Independent Investigations
A candid, independent review after a catastrophic injury, hospitalization or death in athletics.
- Policies and procedures in place before the event
- Preparation, staffing and training
- The emergency response, step by step
- Recommendations for what must change
Investigations are conducted under attorney-client privilege, with final reports delivered to the institution's counsel, preserving the institution's control over how findings are used.
Expert Witness
Court-approved expert for Emergency Action Plans and exertional death in sports, with testimony in court cases involving sports injury, exertion and physical activity.
- Standards of care in sports medicine
- Emergency Action Plans and emergency response
- Exertional heat stroke, sickling and rhabdomyolysis
- Sudden death in sport
- Concussion
